Terms of Use
The short version. BiteIt is a paid app that estimates what you ate from a photo or from a Bangladeshi food database. The estimates are estimates — useful for everyday awareness, not for treating anything. Your subscription is tied to the account you signed in with, and signing in on a new phone brings it back.
These terms apply when you use BiteIt. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please stop using it and uninstall.
What BiteIt is
BiteIt records what you eat and estimates its calories and nutrition. Some estimates come from a database of Bangladeshi dishes and packaged goods; some come from an AI model reading a photo of your meal.
Both are approximations. Portion sizes vary, recipes vary, and the same dish cooked in two homes is not the same food. Treat the numbers as a guide to your own habits over time, not as measurements.
Not medical advice
BiteIt is a general wellness app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and nothing in it is advice from a doctor or a dietitian.
Do not use it to manage a medical condition. If you are pregnant, have diabetes, kidney or liver disease, an eating disorder, or are under medical supervision for any reason, talk to your doctor before changing what you eat based on anything you see here.
Calorie and macronutrient targets are calculated from the height, weight, age, activity and goal you enter, using standard published formulas. They are a starting point, not a prescription.
Your account
BiteIt has no free tier. Access is granted by a subscription, and the subscription belongs to the account you signed in with — not to the phone. Signing in on another device restores it; signing out removes access until you sign back in.
You are responsible for the email account you use to sign in. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you, because a sign-in code is sent there.
One account is for one person. Please do not share it.
Subscriptions and payment
BiteIt is sold as a subscription, with a free trial at the start. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you are charged, in Bangladeshi taka.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before it renews.
Cancelling and refunds depend on where you bought it. A subscription purchased through Google Play is managed, cancelled and refunded through Google Play under Google's terms. A subscription purchased elsewhere is managed where you bought it. BiteIt cannot cancel or refund a payment it did not process.
If a subscription lapses, your food diary stays on your phone. You keep what you logged; you lose access to the app's features until you subscribe again.
Fair use of scanning
Meal scanning costs money to run, so there is a daily limit per account. The limit is set well above ordinary use — several scans a day, every day — and exists to stop automated abuse rather than to ration normal usage.
Please do not use the app or its servers in ways that are obviously not a person logging meals: automated scripts, bulk requests, resale of the service, or attempts to work around the limit or the paywall.
Your content
What you log is yours. Meal photos are used to produce an estimate and are described in the Privacy Policy, which explains what is sent off your phone and what is not.
You keep ownership of everything you enter. We do not claim rights over your food diary, your photos or your weight history.
Availability
BiteIt depends on services we do not control — an AI provider, a database host, the app store, your network. It will sometimes be slow or unavailable, and features may change as the app improves.
The app is provided as it is. We cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every estimate will be accurate.
Ending access
You can stop using BiteIt at any time, cancel where you bought the subscription, and uninstall the app.
We may suspend an account that is abusing the service — for example attempting to bypass payment, or automating requests at a scale no person would produce.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, BiteIt is not liable for losses arising from your use of the app, including decisions made about food, health or weight on the basis of its estimates. Nothing here limits any right you have under Bangladeshi consumer law that cannot be limited.
Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top shows when they last did. Continuing to use BiteIt after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.
